As this is a beginner’s course, pre-knowledge in or previous experience with UX is not required. We are looking for people with empathy, a passion for design and some aesthetic sensibility.

Module 1
Introduction to User Experience and the Human-Centered Design Process
After this module, you will understand the definition of user experience and the competitive value of working on UX, as well as the difference between UX, UI and usability. You will also know how to practice the design process.
Module 2
Define the Problem and Empathize with People
After this module, you will understand how to organise, execute and analyse user research (interviews, field observation, survey). You will also know how to map the user experience with tools like Empathy Maps and Personas.
Module 3
Idea Generation and Customer Journey
After this module, you will understand how to formalise user research. You will learn how to generate and refine ideas, then how to transform them into a product/service definition. Additionally, you will be able to define requirements and usability goals.
Module 4
Responsive UI and Interaction Design
This module teaches design basics, as well as UI and interaction principles. After being introduced to Figma, you will be able to perform basic functionalities like setting up screen flows and grids.
Module 5
Prototyping Basics
After this module, you will have an overview of prototyping tools and will know how to choose one. You will learn how to create and use a library, as well as how to create a wireframe in Figma.
Module 6
Advanced Prototyping
After this module, you will know how to create a working prototype in Figma ready for testing. You will also understand how to connect a library and how to connect screens.
Module 7
UX Validation and Testing
After this module, you will understand the definition of usability and how to evaluate it. You will be familiar with various validation techniques and know when and how to use them. You will also learn how to prepare, conduct and analyse a usability test for a prototype.
Module 8
UX Management
In this module, you will discover how UX designers work inside different organisations and how they collaborate with other disciplines. You will learn about UX Management and how to lead a design project.

To apply for a scholarship, you must participate in the Scholarship Challenge and if you show us you have potential, you can win a scholarship that will cover your attendance fee for 100% or 50%*. You will receive the challenge brief on January 28th, and get the chance to present your project as indicated in the brief by February 1st.

A Typical Week
Before the week starts, you go through the self-study material, which takes around 2-3 hours each module.
MONDAY and WEDNESDAY:
🕒 18:00 – 21:00 CET – Live Session
Start with discussing the self study material which you went through independently before class with the expert and your colleagues. Then practice, practice, practice! Apply your new knowledge to exercises or your group project. Discuss and debate a case study defined by the expert to get even more confident with applying your skills.
💼 Networking/Career Event
During the live sessions you will have three networking experiences. Take the chance to build your professional network! You will meet members of the international Talent Garden community, who might be future partners, customers, colleagues or friends. If the event is not about networking, we help you to boost your career, e.g. with a workshop about building your UX portfolio.
