User Experience for products and services
Don’t leave UX to the professionals. Work with experienced specialists and like-minded professionals on improving the UX of your product.
If you’re in charge of a product, a service, or even a startup, you need to understand your users – their behaviour, pain points and motivations – to be able to design a successful experience.
In this masterclass, you will spend two days with experienced specialists and like-minded participants on improving your product.
This is not a theoretical UX introduction – it’s a hands-on experience that creates immediate value.

Strategic user experience thinking
In this talk on strategic user experience thinking, we establish an overview of how to think user-centered and how this way of thinking will influence the development of your product/service. We will look at frameworks such as design thinking and user journeys, and talk about terms such as pain points, user stories, frontstage and backstage. You will learn how to look at a project through the glasses of user experience, and how to think and describe the development of your product/service using these frameworks.
Why and how is UX a strategic tool for succeeding in product/service development.
In groups, we discuss our individual projects and the value of UX going forward. The groups are constructed with project relevance in mind. Each group will pick one project to discuss in plenum. The discussions will be facilitated by members of the faculty.
Tools for conceptualization and visualization
How do you make convincing visual representations of your concept? When is a low-fi prototype the most effective tool to present your concept and when will you need more detailed and advanced presentations? Get inspiration to different ways of creating concepts and presenting them in a convincing way from user stories to wireframes, video, mood boards and co-creation.
Plan a user study
In groups, you will put the methods from the talk into a plan for a user study that fits your project. Planning a study includes the choice of method(s), identifying and recruiting users, interview themes and test materials. The plan also includes time schedule and budget. During the work, you will get coaching and input from the presenters to make a plan for a user study that you can conduct on your own product.
Ideate, prototype, iterate, repeat
This talk focuses on the design thinking skills of ideation, prototyping and iteration. We will present different tools and techniques that will enable you to visualize and test your ideas and bring others in on your vision of the future. We will embrace the concept of rapid prototyping as an instrument to either fail fast or innovate now.
Visualize and test your own business ideas
After an inspirational talk, it’s time to:
Perform your own ideation process and select the right ideas.
Create your own prototype and share it with your group members.
Perform a quick and dirty user test, and adjust the prototype.

A very well prepared course, with knowledgeable instructors. This course has a good mix of theory and hands-on training and it is possible to attend no matter at what knowledge level you have – I had a great experience.
